Truck Accidents

Trucking accidents in Texas have increased substantially as there are more of these large vehicles on the road. Another factor for this increase is out of country trucks (especially those from Mexico) that do not pass our stringent regulations. These trucks are able to enter the U.S. because of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). The sheer size of these vehicles and their inability to stop quickly (usually due to a heavy load) make them all the more susceptible to accidents. When these accidents happen, the damage is of course greater as well to any car, truck or motorcycle that is involved.

Some of the factors that may cause a trucking accident include failing to maintain the vehicle (checking brakes, tires, etc.); improper operation of the truck (novice truck drivers); and driving while tired (common for long-haul routes).
